We are a Yorkshire based small batch roastery, doing good things with coffee.

The social systems we rely on today are not serving our interests well and are enabling the accelerating decline of society and the destruction of the planet.

Yet, we remain hopeful that people are beginning to take positive steps and that their efforts are starting to have a meaningful impact. We want to join, support and enable those people.

At Folk & Flask we believe that there are better ways of doing things, ways which recognise the importance of putting the planet and its inhabitants first. We want to contribute to society by showing people that businesses can exist for more than the mere pursuit of profit and growth, that you can invest in the community and have a positive impact on the world around you.

What we do

We recognise that community is powerful, we know that small acts can spark seismic changes and that everything starts with individuals. By bringing people together to build understanding, develop trust and shape communities, we believe that good things can happen and so we understand that the simple act of sharing a conversation over good coffee, can be a powerful catalyst for positive change.

Coffee is more than just a drink, it is an invitation to meet, share stories and ideas and create lasting connections.

Our business model is a little different; we invest in communities and the planet and when you buy our coffee, you are helping to do good things. For example; each time you make a purpose from Folk & Flask we will fund the planting of a tree, plus we set aside a percentage of our profit to invest in a wide range of community causes.

Why not invest all your profits?

We considered investing 100% of our profit back into the community, but recognised that there are things outside of our control and decided that we needed to build a surplus to ensure the business would remain viable in the face of unexpected circumstances. Taking this approach means that if we hit an unexpected bump in the road we can continue to meet our obligations to our customers, colleagues and suppliers.

We are at the start of our journey and hope to improve as we go, we hope you decided to travel with us.
